Hi everyone! We are two weeks out from our first competition of the season at Mount Olive on March 11th and 12th! The past few weeks have been very busy as each division works against the ticking clock.
As of now, the engineering divisions are assembling the robot’s mechanisms, working through any challenges that arise. To read more about the building of this year’s robot in depth, you can check out our posts in the Open Alliance.
Additionally, the Business division has officially submitted the FIRST Impact Award application! The next step is to present our team’s presentation to a panel of judge’s at the competition. It’s a time for us to display the community we have created within Team 555 along with the outreach we foster with the Montclair community. Continuing our mission of connecting with the community, Business has also lined up an event with Montclair Public Library on April 16th where we will demonstrate the robot and run different STEM-based activities. Along with that, Robot Petting Zoo is still on track to be held in mid-May. More information about how to attend these events coming soon!
Some key upcoming dates are the Mount Olive competition on March 11th and 12th, our Chipotle fundraiser on March 8th (5pm-9pm), and the Warren Hills competition on March 24th and 25th. Depending on how high our standings are at the end of the two tournaments, we may be able to attend the regional competition at Lehigh University, so keep up with the newsletter for further updates and check out our website for a calendar of our next events!
Thank you for supporting Montclair Robotics!
